CPIT and the Jaipuria Institute of Management (India) have signed an MoU at a ceremony hosted by the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi.
Jaipuria Institute of Management is one of the top-ranked Business Schools in India with campuses in four cities – Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur, and Indore.
The two institutions agreed to cooperate on a range of activities including student and faculty exchanges, special short-term academic programmes for students, and semester study abroad programmes.
As part of this MoU, five students from Jaipuria will visit CPIT in June for a two - week summer internship programme. The students will participate in a 'New Zealand Studies programme' delivered by the School of Business at CPIT.
The summer internship programme is a great opportunity for the Indian students to learn more about the New Zealand business environment with an added focus on Christchurch rebuild.
Dr Teresa Schwellnus, Head of Department, School of Business, said "CPIT focuses on globally relevant education and as such already has a truly internationally representative staff and student population."
"We are very excited in that this agreement will bring further opportunities to expand our global focus. We are currently working hard to create a world class experience for the first group, while retaining the special New Zealand educated hospitality and feel to the programme. And this, we know, is only the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship for many individuals of both institutions."
