My name is Heather Ware and I’m the Strategic Director at Cato Brand Partners.
We are looking for voulenteers to attend focus groups for a research job that I’m running for Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA).
VSA place people on two year contracts overseas in the Pacific, but are finding that they are under represented by some groups in New Zealand who have low awareness of them. VSA volunteers and their partners are funded to go overseas and have their airfares, living costs and insurances covered, so it is an opportunity for all New Zealanders to consider.
I’m helping them to understand what people see as the opportunities and barriers, and am running focus groups of people, including a group of New Zealanders of Indian descent.
Who is needed? I am looking for people who would be open to volunteering, rather than people who would never consider it. The VSA’s partner organisations look for skilled volunteers with recent, relevant experience in their specialist field. In most instances, volunteers will have a recognised professional, trade, or commercial qualification, and at least two to three years working experience.
Additional criteria: We need voulenteers who are of Indian descent, aged between 45 and 64 years old - looking for between four and eight people in total.
