CIDC was established by the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog) in 1996 jointly with several Union Ministries, PSUs and the construction industry, to help upgrade the Indian Construction Industry, to be able to develop and implement world class projects within least time and at least cost. (see www.cidc.in).
Amongst its various activities, CIDC has formed, with the support of PSUs & other industry constituents, a National database of vendors of the construction industry. It may be accessed at www.cidcdatabase.com. Each of the vendors has been verified with due diligence, including physical verification of their premises and facilities and thus forming a credible source of procurement for construction project requirements.
The database has a variety of registrants including Consultants, Manufacturers for supplying Materials, Accessories, Consumables, etc., and Contractors for providing Services, or Manpower for construction projects and facilities concerning construction of river bridges, highway bridges and structures, tracks for railways, sports stadia, industrial buildings, residential and commercial complexes, integrated projects for power generation and distribution systems, air conditioning systems, finishing/ interiors works, piling etc.
