The Superdiversity Institute (SDI) is currently running the Global Talent Internship Programme in conjunction with ATEED (Auckland Tourism, Events & Economic Development), which provides highly skilled international students/graduates with degree qualifications to employers without charge to give them work experience.
The interns have skills, experience and academic backgrounds in the following areas:
• STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths;
• Business Services – including consulting, marketing and management;
• Information Technology; and
• Design and creative technologies – including film/screen.
They are also police vetted, reference checked and provided with an induction into the kiwi workplace.
The pilot in 2017 was very successful with the following employers taking part and accepting an intern: Cure Kids, Genesis, MyCare, NEC, Nestlé, NZ Asian Leaders, Perpetual Guardian, Rainbow Auckland, The Superdiversity Centre, Titan NZ Funding and WE Accounting.
