The Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government oflndia has offered scholarships under the Commonwealth Scholarship Plan (Al203) for the academic year 2019-20. Two slots are available for students from New Zealand for higher education in Indian Universities, Colleges etc.
Interested applicants need to go to URL address: a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in and register themselves to have a Login ID and Password for filling up the form online for various courses. This Portal consists of all relevant information available for students abroad including names and details of all States and Central Universities and Institutes, Colleges affiliated with them, information like availability of various academic courses, guidelines, eligibility criteria, hostel etc.
The scholarship does not cover admission in Medical/Paramedical (Nursing/Physiotherapy/ Anesthesia etc. )/fashion courses. Please note that for Science course, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars themselves. This scholarship slots include return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if so required.
Applicants are advised to exercise due diligence & research on the specific admission criteria laid down by various Universities for each subject and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basis certificates mentioned in the application form.
For this they may refer to the Universities Handbook/Universities Grants Commission's website and the concerned institute's website for eligibility criteria. Detailed guidelines for students are available on the A2A portal www.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in. However, please note some of points, as below:
Applicants are necessarily of 18 years of age at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Institutes and not more than 30 years of age.
Only applicant who are well proficient in English language can apply for this Scholarship.
All selected students will have to stay in hostels. No exception for any reason will be accepted.
Submit Medical Fitness Certificate.
Applications will only be accepted online through the portal.
Applicants have also to submit physical copy of online application after completing the same online to High Commission of India, Wellington along with copies of all mandatory documents.
