ANZ celebrates Festival of Lights with special ATMs: To celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, ANZ New Zealand has commissioned special themed frontages for ATMs in six centres. Created by Indian artist and designer Tanmay Desai, the Diwali ATMs will be launched on Friday October 3, to recognise Dussehra, an auspicious date on the Indian calendar which marks the start of Diwali. Congratulations to Kiwi Companies on World Travel Awards for the Australasia region: New Zealand was the proud recipient of eight World Travel Awards for the Australasia region at an award ceremony on Friday evening in New Delhi. While Air New Zealand won the award for Australasia's Leading Airline and for the Leading Airport Lounge, Whale Watch Kaikoura, a company owned and operated by South Island's Ngai Tahu tribe, won Australasia's Responsible Tourism Award. Other winners from New Zealand included Auckland International Airport (Leading Airport), Huka Lodge (Leading Boutique Hotel), Tourism New Zealand (Leading Tourist Board), Queenstown (Leading Destination) and Sky City Auckland (Leading Casino Resort).
Know your new ministers: Prime Minister John Key has announced the National-led Government's new Ministry as it prepares to begin its third term in office. Getting Cricket Smart in New Zealand Schools: Cricket Smart is a new set of teaching resources from New Zealand Cricket designed to celebrate and leverage New Zealand's co-hosting of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, which is now just 124 days away. Cricket Smart has been designed by New Zealand Cricket and ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in conjunction with Ministry of Education endorsed education developers. The initiative is part of a wider legacy project for the tournament, including school yard cricket and volunteer initiatives, which has the financial support of the New Zealand Government.The resources are designed to be used not just for this summer but as a long-standing feature in Kiwi schools. 'Make in India': India's big manufacturing push: On September 25th, India's PM, Narendra Modi, called together hundreds of diplomats, business leaders, journalists, ministers and others to a swanky hall in Delhi to launch his latest marketing push. The event was broadcast live across India and to diplomatic missions abroad. The event was web-cast live in Auckland, at an event hosted by the Indian High Commission, at Stamford Plaza Hotel. Since 1988, the India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC) has promoted and encouraged trade in goods and services, investment, scientific, technical and economic cooperation between India and New Zealand. INZBC is a member-based independent organisation, not-for-profit incorporated society, which exists for three purposes:
- To lobby and inform government on trade-related matters
- To disseminate information and know-how on doing business between the two countries
- To facilitate business development on behalf of members through leveraging networks
